Southlands’ foodie event of the year – The Apple Pie baking competition.
Did you know that it was the 15th century Dutch who first created the lattice-style pastry we know and love today. The lattice-style pies caught on quickly, and 100 years later, they could be found across Europe. At the Apple Pie Supper we’ll be finding the best in West Drayton.
Join us at 2:30pm for the judging of our apple pie competition. Our judge this year is the super Robert Sisk, Events and Promotions Officer for Hillingdon Libraries and digital creator of Four Seasons BBQ on Instagram.
A cup will be awarded for the most delicious pie. After this, we’ll be selling pies and slices of pie. My mouth is watering just thinking of those luscious slices of apple encased in pastry. Cream or custard for you?
To round off the afternoon, we’ll be listening to a few readings from entries to our creative writing competition.
