For visitors

When and where

The exhibition is open every day from Saturday 22 August to Saturday 5 September, 12pm to 6pm, at Southlands Arts Centre, 75 The Green, West Drayton, Middlesex UB7 7PW.

Entry is free. There’s no need to book — just come along.

What you’ll see

Work by artists from across the borough, approximately ~120 works by ~40 artists, spanning painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, and craft. Most pieces are for sale, so if something catches your eye you can take it home at the end of the show.

Southlands Arts Centre is at 75 The Green, West Drayton UB7 7PW.

By train — West Drayton is the nearest station, on the Elizabeth line. From there, the U3 bus stops close by, or it’s a short walk.

By bus — the U3 is the most direct. The 222 and 350 both stop around ten minutes’ walk away.

By car — there’s free parking, but spaces are limited. On busy days, especially the preview evening and receiving day.

For artists — open call

We warmly invite artists to submit recent work for our Summer Exhibition. Whether you’re showing for the first time or you exhibit with us every year, we’d like to see what you’ve been making.

At a glance

  • Receiving day: Sunday 9 August, 1pm–4pm, at Southlands
  • Entry fee: £3:00 per artwork – For artists that steward during the exhibition. • £6:00 per artwork – For artists that do not steward. • £1:00 for any work by children under 18 years.
  • Reduced fee for stewards — 50% discount on submissions
  • Number of works: maximum of six works may be submitted
  • Size limits:
  • Commission on sales: 15% of the sale price will be charged on all works sold in the exhibition
  • Work must be: ready to hang. D-rings. No wet paint. Original work only. Hanging rings will be available to purchase on submission day, at £1 per item

Steward and pay less

Artists who volunteer as stewards — helping keep the exhibition open to the public — get a reduced submission fee.

£6 per piece without stewarding, or £3 per piece with stewarding

There’s a second benefit: while you’re stewarding and in the building, you’re welcome to use a table free of charge to sell smaller pieces — cards, jewellery, small craft items. Please note that other stewards won’t handle sales on your behalf, so this only works during your own shift.
