Welcome to LitOct 2025
Welcome to Southlands LitOct 2025, the much-anticipated literary festival at the Southlands Arts Centre! This year’s festival promises to be an exciting celebration of literature, creativity, and community. Below, you’ll find a list of the events that make up our diverse LitOct schedule.
We’ve designed a £35 event pass that will give you access to all events (except the literary lunch and Palooza), to make sure you don’t miss any of the action. The event pass also includes a LitOct goody bag.
LitOct Events
We launch on Saturday, 4th October with a day of events, culminating in the prize giving for the Southlands Creative Writing Competition with readings of the winning entries; prizes are being presented by author, Elizabeth Drummond.
The Annual Apple Pie Supper will be held on Saturday, 18th, so get your rolling pins at the ready. We’d love to see lots of entries from local people.
Alongside LitOct, we’re mounting a curated art exhibition showcasing artwork by local artist Rosemary Whittle.
We’ll round the whole celebration off on 31st October with our Community Halloween Party. Featuring Carole Bromley and Friends.
