Sulebha Walsh and Gordon Milne come to Southlands to talk about the connections between literature and mental health and how engaging with literature and creative writing can improve wellbeing.
Sulebha Walsh’s initial training was in education where she had a long career as Head of Languages in a secondary school. She completed her counsellor training twelve years ago and worked as a volunteer counsellor at Signpost Counselling, a youth counselling agency in Watford until 2019 when she joined Mind to extend her practice of working with adults. Sulebha’s current role at Mind is as Carers’ Psychotherapist and involves offering counselling and support through group activities to individuals caring for those with mental health issues.
Gordon Milne is a mental health support worker, trainer and coach at Hillingdon Mind, specialising in confidence-building and employment skills. After a varied career, working with Mind in Hillingdon is the best job Gordon’s ever had.
