Helen Joyce is an author, journalist, editor and feminist campaigner, she teaches writing and offers media training and executive coaching. She currently works with the human-rights organisation Sex Matters (now a charity), which campaigns for clarity about the two sexes, male and female, in law and in life.
Helen is the author of the bestseller Trans: Gender Identity and the New Battle for Women’s Rights. It’s three years since she first published her ideas and she’ll talk about what it’s like to write a book that gets her called a bigot and worse on a regular basis, how writing the book has changed her life since publication, what she thinks stands up in hindsight and what she thinks she got wrong.
This is one of October’s literary lunch and listen events, and lunch and a glass of wine or soft drink is included in the price of your ticket.
